I feel like 80’s and 90’s nostalgia has hit hard lately. Multiple tv shows are being remade and clothing styles of that time are being seen on new Netflix films like “To All the Boys I’ve Loved” and sold at Target under the name wild fable. Honestly I love the throwbacks. Maybe it’s because the real world can be a little dreary with politics, bills, work etc so this throwback to “easier” days is very welcomed.
So I was lucky enough to be completely immersed in the 80s tonight by going to the pop up diner Saved by the Max which is basically Saved by the Bell coming to life! I admit I wasn’t an avid watcher (that would be One Tree Hill!) since it was deemed “too grown up” when it was running live, but I would sneak a few episodes when my cousins would watch 🙂
The pop up diner came to West Hollywood this spring and has extended its stay due to popular demand. Tickets are $40/person for an appetizer and entree. I have to say, we were all pleasantly surprised by how large the portions were and how good the food was! But really you’re paying to come enjoy being at Bayside High. When you enter, you immediately enter the school hall with red lockers lined up. You spy a jukebox, payphone and Mr. Beldings’ office all around you.
It’s a lot of fun running around and taking photos with the props and best of all, I love how the waiters want to help you take photos. I feel like they enjoy working there as much as we enjoyed dining there.
If you’re in the LA area, you should go! The diner is staying till September 2019 and tickets are preferred, but walk ins are now accepted. Have fun and go tigers! xo
