Totoro Baby Shower

Recently, I helped plan/coordinate a friend’s baby shower. My co-host was asking all these questions about protocol and timelines and then she said “how do you know all this stuff?” And I realize, I grew up within an accelerated timeline…not sure that is the right phrasing, but basically, I went to my 1st wedding at age 1 and to my first baby shower at age 5. Weddings and baby parties are a part of my DNA! This might be why I always get pulled into the wedding and baby sphere…perhaps later on, I’ll dive back into the event planning world, but that’s a story for another time 😛

Anyways, I helped coordinate a baby shower this weekend and it was quite the event! It was the first time for a lot of the key players to hang out and get to know one another. It’s also super exciting because this is the first baby amongst my group of friends whom I’ve known since ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!

The theme was Totoro and we made sure that everything stuck to the theme! The decor was hand cut by my talented friend, Denise, and all the desserts were hand made by the sister, Michele (fyi, all these treats were gluten free/dairy free so the mama could enjoy!). Seriously, I could not stop snapping pics of the goodies because they were so cute! We also had a game where guest used a string to guess how big the mama to be’s belly is and the winner received an amazing Totoro apron! Funny enough the winner ended up being the talented sister who made all the yummy treat so we all know she will put that apron to good use 🙂

Also we made sure to have the guest write little notes & wishes for the baby so one day mommy and daddy can read them altogether. The highlight of this party was just seeing how loved this baby is going to be especially by his favorite BFGs (if you don’t know what this stands for, read here) aunties! Can’t wait to meet you baby boy xo
