Originally we weren’t going to do a babymoon because we went to Hawaii last year which was kind of a babymoon in that it was a time to celebrating just being together the two of us. But a friend recommended using Chase points to stay “locally” at that Alila Ventana in Big Sur – we could drive there, it is all inclusive AND adults only so if we were going to go, now is the time!

Upon arrival, we were greeted with champagne because we were also celebrating our 6 year dating anniversary so the husband and daddy to be enjoyed that treat!

Our friend was so kind to gift us his Hyatt status so we also got upgraded to a villa! We felt so spoiled and loved already 🙂 our first night, we dined at the Sur House (it’s the only restaurant on site) to celebrate our anniversary. Even though the place is all inclusive, they only allowed for one appetizer or pasta and then a pasta or entree and if you ordered more pastas or entrees it would be $25. So that was kind of confusing…but at least the appetizers and desserts were endless! Oh also alcohol isn’t included which this mama to be didn’t really care about, but you could always bring your own wine to relax with too.

We didn’t have the best weather during our stay, but we made the most of it enjoying a “hike” around the grounds and relaxing at the poolside. There are guided hikes available, however, I couldn’t walk far without being super winded (hello pregnancy!) and it kept sprinkling randomly. We did enjoy the onsen even in the rain as I would just stuck my legs in so I didn’t sous vide the baby 😅 If we went to the restaurant between 4-6pm, they had cocktail hour with an alcoholic beverage included. It was a fun show as they made huge bubbles on the drinks. And they did offer crafts (we made dream catchers), had records and chess that we could play.

And my favorite part was the Ventana had a s’mores bar every night! I definitely took advantage of that and our villa’s fireplace 🙂

Overall, we thought the place was perfectly serene for us to spend time together and just enjoy the last few times of the two of us until baby boy joins the family! I do think the food was a little overhyped, but did find a few dishes we enjoyed. If we get the points to do it again, we would, but I don’t think we would ever pay for it in cash because it’s just a lot for what it is. I think the all inclusive in Cabo is more worth it xo
