Post Partum Hair

I keep saying I’ll write up a post partum post, but I didn’t process how little time I would have or energy to sit down and write…I much rather nap, shower or scroll IG! But now that we’re more than year since giving birth, I wanted to write a quick bit about hair because it’s crazy!!

Me as a kiddo with short yet thick hair

So I’ve always had thick hair…except when I was born, I was bald till I was two! But after that my hair came in and has been thick ever since. So when I got pregnant and everyone said my hair would be nicer and so would my nails, I didn’t think much of it because I’ve been blessed to have had both normally. And during pregnancy, I didn’t see much of a change in my hair. My nails seem stronger and I chalked it up to my prenatal vitamins. Then I had baby boy and I was just busy in survival mode (the first month will be a post on its own!). Imagine my shock a few months later when I saw a photo of myself and I LOOKED BALD!!! I was freaking out and texted all the moms I knew and emailed my doctor. Like is this forever?!! They all said this is part of the process, but man, is it an understatement when they say mother’s sacrifice because woooo its been quite the physical sacrifice.

My nails are usually long and strong – thank you genetics! Ps peep my push present 🥰

So after the initial freaking out and trying to figure out how to hide the bald spot, I went full force into trying to figure out how to help quicken the process of regrowth.

I can’t say this will work for everyone, but it worked for me and after a few months, my bald spot is recovering with the new hair growth! Now my hair looks back to normal…till I pop the next baby out 😅

Nuskin Hair System

Just the shampoo + conditioner

Just the serum

Baby Blue Hair Vitamins

I take the vitamins daily. Use the serum daily and the shampoo and conditioner 3 times a week. These photos are somewhat embarrassing to me, but also I keep thinking if my regime can help another mama, it’s worth it so ping me if you have any questions or just want to commiserate. For now, I’m keeping with this regime since I’m preggers again (my bald spot is fully covered with hair again!) and know the body changes that are gonna happen so I might as well keep the growth going xo

Hair is back all full and lovely!
